Tenna Frederiksen - Quando m'en vo' soletta - La Bohéme - 1908

The Danish soprano Hortensia ("Tenna") Kristina Sophie Erogine Frederiksen (1885-1954) was among the most popular artists at the Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen for more than 30 years.

She made her debut in 1906 as Elsa in Wagner's "Lohengrin", and two and a half years later she made her first visit to the recording studio. And... this is the very first recording of this 23-year old upcoming star.

Tenna Frederiksen rarely performed outside Denmark, but in 1911 and 1912 she studied in Paris, and in the early 1930's gave a couple of recitals in Sweden.
She retired from the Royal Danish Theatre in 1939, but continued to give recitals up to her death in 1954.

Tenna Frederiksen made her last recordings in 1951 (under the name Tenna Kraft).
